MSC Accreditation Scheme

Stoveco is registered on the NICEIC MCS Installer Scheme.

Our MCS certificate number is NIC 1890.

By choosing an MCS Certified Installer and MCS Accredited product consumers and businesses may access government grant funding schemes including The Renewable Heat Incentive, Green Deal and Feed In Tariffs.   (Details below.)

What is the MCS Scheme?

The Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) is an independent scheme which is focussed on ensuring the quality of renewable technology installations and products and certifies microgeneration products and installers in accordance with a set of quality standards. It is designed to provide a level of protection and assurance to consumers as well as a sign of quality to be boasted by MCS Installers.

The MCS Scheme is the only certification scheme to cover all microgeneration products and services, and has support from the DECC, and other industry groups as a leading scheme for working towards cutting the UK's dependency on fossil fuels and cutting carbon dioxide emissions.

The MCS Scheme therefore provides consumers with a guarantee that the installer they use and the product they choose meet a high minimum standard which has been tested by an independent MCS Certification body.

Renewable Heat Incentive  (RHI)

Q. What is the Renewable Heat Incentive?
A. It is a payment for generating heat from renewable sources. Like the Feed-In Tariffs, it is set by Government. It is administered by the official regulator Ofgem and paid for directly by the Treasury.

Q. How much money is the Renewable Heat Incentive worth?
A. First of all you will save money by not needing to use any gas or oil, both of which are becoming increasingly expensive year-on-year.

Secondly, you will be paid up to 18p/kWhr for the hot water and heat you generate and use yourself. It depends on exactly what systems you use and how large they are as to what the exact tariff level is.

Q. How long do the tariffs last?
A. Between 10 and 23 years depending on which type of system you use.

Q. Is that long enough to cover the installation costs?
A. Yes, is the simple answer. In fact, we estimate that most of our customers will earn enough money from the tariffs to pay off their installation costs in about seven to nine years. According to the Government, which has set the tariff levels, the average user will earn a return of around 8 to 12% per annum with higher band tax payers seeing almost double that.

Q. When do they start?
A. Tariffs will be paid starting in June 2011. However, any suitable system installed from now onwards will be eligible for the tariffs when they begin.

Q. How can I benefit?
A.Conatact Stoveco now for the latest news on the Renewable Heat Incentive and the ways in which you - and your business - can benefit.
